PBL Teaching Practices Book Study (Online)

June 21

“Project Based Teaching” is the Buck Institute for Education’s newest book by Suzie Boss and John Larmer. Whether you are new to project based learning (PBL) or a seasoned PBL practitioner that has experienced a PBL 101 design workshop and implementing it in your classroom, this book provides a deep dive into the Buck Institute’s gold standard seven teaching practices that support a PBL student-centered learning environment. The book is a page-turner as it is full of practical tips from practicing PBL teachers that are easy to start implementing immediately. The book study also features accompanying videos that show some of the featured PBL teachers in-action modeling the teaching practices with students in their classrooms. This 15-hour online book study is self-paced for users to complete the course at their convenience anytime during the timeline of Friday, June 21 through Monday, August 5. Participants must purchase their own copy of “Project Based Teaching” and plan to spend about 2 hours working at their convenience in each of the seven modules. Course fee is $99.00. An optional one hour of Ashland University graduate credit is available for $249.00.
