Book Study | How to Use Grading to Improve Learning

Grades are imperfect, shorthand answers to “What did students learn, and how well?” In How to Use Grading to Improve Learning Susan Brookhart guides educators at all levels in utilizing research based strategies that are fundamental to effective grading and learning practices in or to produce grades that accurately communicate students’ achievement of learning goals. The ESCCO is pleased to provide independent learning opportunities for individuals interested in expanding their knowledge, understanding, and practices related to these issues. This course is a one credit intensive book study designed for K-12 educators who are seeking graduate level courses for their professional development, license renewal and/or pay scale increases. Participants will need to purchase their own copy of How to Use Grading to Improve Learning. The course is set-up in assignments and participants may work at their own pace as all work will be due by the end of the course. A certificate of completion for 15 contact hours in content will be available within a week after course completion.
